the article seems to say that the majority of americans are in favor of gun rights....therefore, those that represent us would or should naturally support what the people want. that is their job! they are REPRESENTATIVES, not dictators.

People should focus on the need to give more attention and care to people with neuro-brain disorders. guns are not the issue.

I am a republican and I will vote for it. I think Romney will leave the hard right extremists in the dark they live in and be more progressive than most think of republicans in general. Lets hope anyway. He has shown interest in helping the poor and elderly and leaving medical decisions to the patient/doctor and several other progressive issues. I also feel that is the direction MOST republicans want the country to go in. We hear lots of garbage from the extreme right on this board, but that is not the mindset of true republicans.

This James Holmes planned carefully his attack on the Aurora, CO movie theater. Granted he probably had some kind of psychiatric problem in the past because of the statement from his mother that they got the right person. His mother is a psychiatric nurse so she should know.

Holmes was a brilliant science student who was easy-going with others.

I do not see some kind of Son of Sam nutjob (talking to dogs) here but someone who wanted to spread as much death and destruction as possible in as little time as he could do it.

This looks more like a suicide bomber type crazy. Someone with a cause that they were willing to die for. Have no idea what his cause could be except to gain infamy and spread chaos. Just a sick freak making a point through guns and bombs. Not sick in terms of mental wiring but sick in terms of being a sociopath.

There have been many brillant people throughout history that have had a terrorist type of mentality; they just have a different cause in their lives.

Obama and Romney have a golden chance right now to stand up and try to make a difference in our society by calling for gun control, but they won't, of course, because it's an election year.
