What do the symbols to the left of the posts mean?

I looked but have not seen an explanation of what these symbols mean. I did figure out the moved message (arrow) means but am still wondering what the others mean.

Just asking....

Redrock, thanks for asking this. I've wondered myself and never posted a question. I don't think the link from cathyw above is what you're referring to, unless I'm totally missing the boat.

I also want to thank you for asking the question. The link from cathyw is the answer to the question. Look all the way down at the bottom and you'll see a bunch of different envelope icons with an explanation of what each one means.

Thanks, BarryRX. I hadn't scrolled down far enough.

dkrhardy 07-23-2012 06:22 PM

If you use the link and scroll down, just above the posting rules, you will see the envelopes and the explanation. It's small and on the left side.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks a lot cathyw.

Imagine that !

If you click on ANY Forum (where the symbols actually appear) and go to the bottom you will see the symbols and their meaning along with the Posting Rules.

Thanks zcaveman...I didn't realize that. I usually use "New Posts"... the symbols appear there..but not the explanation. Anyway, now a few more people know what those little envelopes mean. Thanks.

Thank you for posting this and the answer, I was puzzeled as well.
Now how about those blue arrows that the threads seem to go no where when you click on them, it was not in the group of symbols?

Do you mean the little down arrow in the blue box right next to the thread? If so, when you put your cursor over it you will see that it says "Go the first new post". It looks like it takes you to one of the later posts in the thread. I am not sure how it figures the first new post though.

If that is not the little blue arrow you are talking about, you need to give a better description or location of the arrow.

Thanks,
Z
