What is Wrong With Yani Tseng?
It seems like just yesterday, that I was writing a post asking if anyone would step up and challenge Yani Tseng. My, how things have changed. In a few short months, Yani has gone from complete dominance to completely out of contention. Let us look at her season so far. I am going to break it down into three parts.
Mostly Harmless: What is going on with Yani Tseng? |
What a funny and difficult game! Everyone seems to be saying that it is either an injury (maybe her elbow) or she's just lost some motivation.

Too much success???

Maybe, she is trying to hard? She's young so going more with her head than with long term muscle memory. |
lost confidence!
Guess she is human and has her ups and downs....:popcorn:

Yani Tseng has fired her caddie again. Just a few weeks after firing longtime caddie Jason Hamilton, yani has now fired Basil Van Rooyan. Her new caddie will be Patrick Turley.
Jason Hamilton has been hired this week by Na Yeon Choi. |

If you look back at the history of professional golf, you will find that there has always been a "hot" player. There have been only a few that have sustained momentum over a long period of time. Those are the greatest that the game has produced. Even they had lulls in their careers. Maybe Tseng will come back and get on a winning streak again, but the depth of talent in todays fields makes it very unlikely that we will see a Jack or Ben Hogan or Nancy Lopez again.
IMHO the most outstanding and unlikely to be broken record in all of sports it Byron Nelson winning 11 straight tournaments and 18 in one year. Tiger came the closest a few years ago with 7 but he didn't come close to winning 18. Of course Byron only had to beat three or four guys every week. |
