What's wong with some people?

Tonight after hearing a sizzle and then the loudest crack of thunder I've ever heard followed immediately by a lightening bolt I ran into Palmer club house. When I looked outside I saw lightning all around and two men practicing their swings at the range. Every Summer I see people on the golf courses with lightning in the area and I marvel at people's total inability to respect the power of nature. I guess they didn't notice the seveal houses that burned to the ground after being struck by lightning these past few Summers. Thanks for letting me vent.

I was off 466 in our home when that lightning and thunder happened today!!!!. It reflected on wood inside of our house and the crack was enormous. I was sure something close by got struck. I didn't hear sirens after it. It really came out of the blue and it was as you say, the loudest I have heard in awhile with enormous light.

Vent all you want, lightning can be very dangerous and those who continue to hold a golf club in their hands, provide a perfect channel to the ground....they're lightning rods. Maybe they're just unaware of lightning facts, maybe they figure they'll never get hit, maybe they've never seen the damage a strike can produce.

Glad you're safe!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. Their spouses probably have life insurance policies on them.

Several years ago we had arguably the best young golfer in our neck of the woods hit by lightning. It was not a direct hit, that will kill you, but enough to need hospitalization. He still played golf (a lot better than most) but never lived up to expectation's. Hitting balls on the practice range with lightning clearly seen---CRAZY.

Maybe the golfers were hitting 1 irons.. Remember what they say about even god can't hit a 1 iron! :1rotfl:

grab a club for lightning!!

I think that these players needed to get a grip. they wanted to be the brightest bulbs in the box sooooo they play with vigor and idiocy and .... the beat goes on.

They say you have a better chance of being "hit by lightning" 3 times in your lifetime than "hitting the Power Ball". Maybe they are trying to get the lightning part out of the way for the big pay off.:boom:

Might be a great way to clean up the gene pool.

Last year there was a Lightning strike near Fort Myers Fl.

I began in the gulf and hit a golfer 7 miles away on a tee box!

And YES he can hit a one iron, ......

Exactly! For people who didn't believe in evolution, here's the proof!

Figmo - is lightening God's "concealed weapon"? :)
