Thank you Becky. Since we are neighbors I thought my dishwasher might be on the list and it is. Just scheduled service on the GE website. Guess what - they would give me a $75 rebate if I want a new dishwasher!

Look at the plate inside edge of the door frame on most models
Recall is for Model numbers starting with:
GLC4, GLD4, GLD5, GLD6, GSD61, GSD62, GSD63, GSD66, GSD67, GSD69, GLDL, PDW7, PDWF7, EDW4, EDW5, EDW6, GHD4, GHD5, GHD6, GHDA4, GHDA6
with the following serial numbers:
FL, GL, HL, LL, ML, VL, ZL, AM, DM, FM, GM, HM, LM, MM, RM, SM, TM, VM, ZM, AR, DR, FR, GR

Also Hotpoint HLD4

No other models are involved in this recall

Thanks for the info. We moved here in 2006. Our dishwasher was not on the recall list......rats...;).

Thanks, mine is on the list but not real happy with the offer of $75 toward a new one. If they sold a defective appliance they should replace it. Ha ha. We'll probably just schedule a repair. Prolly would never be able to locate this bisque color!

I just had the GE repairmen come and replace my calrod heating unit in the dishwasher..........Took about a 1/2 hour of time, great service

For those who have had the repair please tell us who you called what they said what they needed and how long of a wait did you experience

rubicon, I just followed the instructions on the CNN web page and it took me to a page to set up my choice of an appointment. I chose Tues. between 8am and 12. I received an email verifying my appt. A neighbor made his for Monday. Very easy to do.
