The Perseid meteor shower will happen this weekend, and you can be an official NASA meteor counter. There's an app for that! :)

I don't know, A3. I really like the idea of an app for my phone, lying on the chaise lounge on the lanai and watching the shooting stars.... But they say the best time to do this is right before DAWN. :22yikes: That would be very early, right? I think I saw dawn once or twice, but I was on my way home from somewhere. :icon_wink:

that's about when i run cause it's cooler and yep it really early that's when the trash gets picked up LOL

Is it possible to use your DVR to record it? Waaaayyyyy to early!

I looks like we'll have to rely on DandyGirl & Asianthree to observe and report back to everybody. Please let us know what you discover! But don't call early in the morning... :icon_wink:

If anyone is still awake, don't forget to look up in the sky. We just went out and saw two meteors in the beautiful sky here in TV. 11:18 p.m. Glorious night.

up north and the only thing i saw while i was running this morning was clouds not a clear sky anywhere...so my count is 0

Happy to say I made it to the hot tub about 4:30. I did see a few shooting stars..one that was really brilliant! AWESOME way to start the day.

I saw two. (Yes, I'm actually awake at this hour) I thought it was quite spectacular to see the conjunction of Venus, Jupiter and the crescent moon, all lined up & looking beautiful. The meteors almost seemed like an afterthought. :icon_wink:
