A really neat Gregg Braden talk.

Here is a link to a 2008 radio talk that Greg Braden gave which addresses many of the topics we have been discussing. For those who are looking for the science behind miracles and an explanation for some of the mysteries of life it is a very down to earth talk that seems to resonate with many. I trust that there are other Gregg Braden followers on the board and many that may be drawn to the subject. For me it is a great introduction to the new paradigm of the 21st century, which is based on old old understanding. More and more people are waking up and recognizing that there is so much more than we have learned about up til now and I find it really exciting to keep expanding my perspective and view of life. What a trip!

Sorry! I keep forgetting to post the link in my excitement of wanting to share. Happy to hear from another Gregg Braden fan.

I may have posted a short clip from this talk on an earlier link. It was called something else and I forgot that I had posted it. This whole talk will put the concepts into a bigger context and is worth listening to if it interests you. If not then you can always skip it.

Braden is one of those deep thinkers who can explain things like the guy next door so I find him easy and fascinating to listen to.

A reminiscence (off topic, sorry...)

Even though I have no idea who Gregg Braden is, this reminded me of when I taught as an adjunct in a major university system many decades ago (ouch!). I became good friends with one of my colleagues, and our sons became good friends too. I was never very good at mathematics; I thought that Tropic of Calculus was an X-rated book….

At age eight my friend’s son was able to teach me the basic principles of binary mathematics by explaining the concept, which for me was a challenge, in an eight-year-old’s language! After graduation from MIT, he joined Bill Gates’ team and went on to be one of the developers of Excel, while goodness knows how I still remember his binary math explanation!

You were fortunate to run into one of those kids! I love talking with the young ones who are so nonplussed and have no pretence about what they know.

They just come in with this ability and come out with the darndest explanations. He must have chosen good parents who were able to keep his curiosity alive and nurture the skills and he was born at the right time to get into the software field.

I have a nephew who is now working for Twitter who from an early age seemed to "know" what the computers were all about. He was a gameboy kid and we had no idea what he was doing sitting in the corner with this thing or where it would lead. We didn't know if he would ever become more sociable and now he is into social media and the friendliest of people.

Another example of things all happening for a reason and everything being at the right time, even when we don't understand why. I have really come to embrace that outlook and it has served me well.
