Garage remotes
 

Purchased a house and the garage door remotes are garbage. The door is an old Home Depot no longer carried. Would anyone know if you can buy generic remotes and key pad that can be programmed to the existing opener? Thanks

We purchased an extra remote through Amazon. I don't think it was "generic", but the cost was reasonable. Search for the same model that you have and there's a good chance that they have it or one that's compatible.

Google the name and model of your opener. There are numerous places online where you can order replacement remotes that you can program to work for you. Also try Ebay. They have many options to buy programmable remotes.

Genie sells a new receiver you hang above your old opener and run 2 small wires to your opener. Cut the old antenna off and you have the new technology. Sometimes you can get it with 2 remotes. Home Depot or online.
