Spam

Suddenly I am being drowned in Spam. Sometimes I have more than 100 spam messages. I can delete them all at once, but I do have to glance at each one to make sure it isn't a legitimate email that got there by mistake.

Are others experiencing this huge increase in Spam?

No increase experienced. Perhaps it's your internet provider. My internet provider has a Spam Filter that puts garbage in a Spam Folder. I never look at it, and I delete it all with one key stroke.

I started getting that about 45 days ago. Three days ago I changed from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome and they have stopped. Not sure what that means, but works for me.

Usually an increase is spam is the result of someone getting your email address. This happens a lot if you post on Craigslist or other free sites. You can setup filters to auto delete these emails. Some spam emails provide a way to remove your account from their database.

It's a good idea to look through your spam mail before deleting it. Many times I find e-mails from my sister or the bank, etc. that have for some reason ended up in spam mail.

That's what I said. I have to at least glance at all of them before deleting them.

I actually should have quoted Barefoot's quote. As I was referring to her post.

Usually it is the ISP that does the filtering not the browser.

Is it possible that Chrome is doing additional filtering of your messages and you have no idea that it is being done. You need to go into Chrome and see how the SPAM filters are set.
