If you like authenic Mexican food this is the place to go. It is a little hole in the wall, but very clean. They make the food from scratch, so the service can be a little slow. That is the only negative. We had my husband's b-day party there. It was excellent and great service for 12 people at one table. Address is 2319 W. Main St phone 352 365-2100 the Restaurant is bin the back of the grocery store. Hope you enjoy!:

We went last night to give it a try. After all, many of the good places are off of the beaten path. Well, this one is way off of the path. Loud music, TV set to the Mexican channels, and (no joke) folks yelling and cattle whistling in the adjoining market. It was very clean and the servers/checkout clerks were very nice. The food takes a lot longer than we thought it would, and we are normally very slow with our drink and appetizer routine. The food was OK, the tortillas were excellent, the beer not very cold. Will we go back? Nope. Just not at all special. Not nearly as authentic as we had hoped.

Sorry the one writer had a bad experience. As far as the music, you just need to ask them to turn it off or down. That is part of there upbringing. They like loud music. We have been there several times with several different people from the Villages and never had a bad meal. Everyone had GREAT food and have returned because of it. Hope someone else tries it and puts a post on. As I mentioned before, the service is slow because they make everything from scratch as it is ordered. It is not Tex-Mex. It is the real deal. ;):l

How are you connected with them? Since you joined in 2009, 3 of your 5 posts have been to rave about a place that is .............

I really hope someone else goes to see if I had a "bad night". It is not as suggested. I have been to Mexico many times, not tourist places, and I have to disagree, it isn't the real deal, at least not what was served to us. I agree that it isn't Tex-Mex either.

Please, someone summon up the courage and go to see for yourself.

We went there for lunch months ago. I had stopped there once to look at the meats at the butcher counter. We liked the food but weren't overwhelmed. However, I'd have no hesitation about going back and trying other items on the menu.

Thanks, might be that we expected real Mexican food as we always had "over the border".
Folks, there is a positive response for ya. Go give it a try and let us know what YOU think.
