Romantic Places in The Villages

When my son and his girlfriend come to visit in Nov (with her mom and grandmom) he will be getting engaged (finally). The big question has been asked and answered long ago so it's not a surprise, but he will be giving her a ring which I don't think she will expect.

I know he would like it to be romantic and memorable. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if he wants it to be just the two of them or he wants to include us. So, I'd appreciate any creative ideas.

Maybe watching the Sunset by the Morse bridge over Lake Sumter in a golf cart. Perhaps On the boardwalk? Maybe at the square in the pavilion after the music is over. On the lake side Veranda at the Waterfront hotel. If they are golfers perhaps on a really pretty golf hole. By the pool at Orange Blossom CC.

A lot depends on what is memorable for them. If they are ocean beach people, then maybe Coco Beach. Artsy then perhaps Cedar Key. etc. It should be a little unique, geared to them, and memorable for them.

Not sure a retirement home is the right place. Maybe on the Beach at sunset over at Clear Water Beach Florida.

How about the little park next to Church on the Square....cute little bridge over a water feature.

In front of the stained glass at Cattle Baron

Dinner at the Lighthouse Restaurant at Lake Sumter Landing........

He can walk her along the boardwalk on the lake.......and bring out the ring......(unless he wanted you all to experience it?)

He could also drive to one of the coastal beaches.........side trip for just the two of them.......

If family attendance is that important.....then an outdoor seating at the Lighthouse Restaurant. We all enjoyed dinner there several times.

Waterfront Inn is another nice place to eat and pop the question with family in attendance, if that's what he really wants. Usually, they want to be alone.

The reflection pool at Spanish Springs Square.

Probably depends on what the couple in question finds romantic. Inside Church on the Square would be romantic to some. A Villages football game or polo match might be romantic to others. By the old train car could also be romantic. That's the one near Panara Bread just off US227/41. There are some romantic benches to view sunsets like the one looking west over on pond at the Lynnhaven Postal Center. Often taken by couples however who get their first. Some benches along the Springdale Fitness Trail also have romantic views.

I think one of the most beautiful and romantic areas around here are the gardens around the Carriage Museum in Weirsdale. I have driven around there, probably illegally, and they have beautiful gardens throughout the area with waterfalls and very old oak trees and paths around the horse corrals and the horses are gorgeous.

Taylor, I'd be happy to take you on a tour so you can see it and be able to see for yourself. It is nature at its best for Central Florida!!

Depend on your idea of romantic. I proposed to my wife on a golf course. We golf together all the time and is a big part of our lives. Pick what is a big part of yours.

1 hour away at Harry P Leu gardens in Orlando.
Lots of private gazebos, rose gardens, waterfront and a lot of weddings.
Dinner in Winter Park after.

Tamirand Grove pool and surrounding area. Pastural views, magnificent Oaks, and almost always a breeze. Particullary nice at sunset. Best kept secret in T.V.. Well at least it was before I posted this.
