Just an observation:

In addition to remembering the "apple a day" saying, it might help to also remember what no one ever said:

No one ever said, "a dose of apple cider vinegar a day keeps the doctor away."

No one ever said, "a serving of apple pie a day keeps the doctor away."

No one ever said, "a candied apple a day keeps the doctor away."

No one ever said, "a peeled apple a day keeps the doctor away."

No one ever said, "a serving of apple sauce a day keeps the doctor away." (whether sweetened or unsweetened)

Not to mention many other sayings that no one ever said, like, "adding sugar and/or white flour to make any kind of fruit taste better keeps the doctor away."

I'm baking you an apple pie and will FEDEX it down to you.

Make sure to put a big scoop of ice cream on top for you, Helene and hubby..........but remember, all things in moderation. My hubby has one ice cream cone every evening.

Ben and Jerry's is in northern Vermont but available in most big supermarkets.

All Natural Ben and Jerry's ice cream has returned with three limited batch flavors! One of those flavors is a classic treat during the holidays: American Pie. This batch was apparently released a few years ago as a speciality. Somehow, I missed it. Luckily, its back on the shelves so I can try it now, but only for a limited time!

What is in American Pie? What are the ingredients? Where may one find it?

What is Ben and Jerry's American Pie Ice Cream
Ben and Jerry's American ice cream, according to their pint container, is apple pie ice cream with apples, pie crust pieces, and a cinnamon streusel swirl. Essentially, American Pie is cinnamon apple pie flavored ice cream with pieces of apple and crust.

What are the nutritional facts of Ben and Jerry's American Pie Ice Cream
For every four ounce serving, Ben and Jerry's American Pie Ice Cream consists of 260 calories. It also consists of daily values of 22% fat, 35% saturated fat, 20% cholesterol, 4% sodium, 10% total carbohydrates, 10% vitamin A, 8% calcium, and 2% iron.
