Beware of Precision Aluminum

We did our homework & found out that All-Weather had merged there business with Precision Aluminum, since we had good results with All-Weather, we went ahead and went with Precision. Bad mistake, the owner lied to my face, said as soon as he received the ok from the ARC Dept, He would order what he needed, which would take about 2 wks & it would take his company 1 day to do the lanai, he went on to say, I know that sounds quick, but i have been doing this for years & i have it down to a science. Ok sounds good to us. well 3 weeks into it, he arrives to our house 4 hours late, then informs me, they are only there to do the frame work, he has to order the windows, when i questioned him about what he had ordered 3 weeks ago & the fact that he said he would have the lanai done in 1 day, he had no response, he just looked down at the floor & said nothing, he didnt defend this words or even try to explain why he had lied! I was so angry i could of spit bullets at him. Here he had held us up 3 weeks & now he is telling us another week, well there isnt to much you can do at this point but let him finish the darn job. Well as it turned out, the windows did not come in 1 week, 2 weeks later they came and put in the windows, only to come back 3 days later to finish, because they didnt have all the materials on there truck at the time. The best part is, he wanted the rest of his money that day, I informed his worker to go back and tell Chip (the owner) as soon as the inspector came & all was clear, then i would pay him, because i did not trust him to come back & repair anything that was wrong because he was & is a liar. The very next day, the owner (Chip) came over looking for me to give him the rest of his money, I told him the same thing, when it passes inspection I will gladly pay him, but because of his lying, i did not trust him & i would never recommend his company to anyone ever! Good thing, inspector came & all is ok. Foot note, his female rep, doesnt give you good information to make a choice, we found out, that for about $400.00 more, we could of had glass windows instead of acrylic. DO NOT USE PRECISION ALUMINUM

It's always a good idea to get three estimates for any construction or landscaping job.

I had exactly the same problem with them in 2009.

Maybe not a happy story exactly, but I know you realize (and I hope others realize) that if you had not held out that final payment until you were satisfied (OK, reasonably satisfied or as satisfied as you were ever going to get over this job) it probably never would have been finished. That would be a much unhappier story. The lesson for all - don't pay in advance. Make the final payment fairly substantial, then don't pay it until EVERYTHING is done that is supposed to be done.

I am so sorry to hear about your problems. I will say I have a friend who also contracted them to extend her lanai. Nine month later she is still trying to get them to finish the job. All she hears is lies, lies, lies. She finally filed a complain with Senior vs. Crime and found there are many complaints against this company. I think she said there were nine outstanding complaints. Not good.
