Golf activities.....

We are renting for the month of October and I'm wondering if there are fun golf activities like they have at my home course that we'd be eligible to join....things like "captain and the crew" or scotch foursome, or stuff like that? If so, what is the procedure for joining in?

Thanks for your help.

I just read a post that referenced a "ladies scramble" that takes place on Wednesdays. That's exactly the type of thing I'm taking about.

I've never asked a question here and gotten no answers. Surely there must be some people who like to play more than just your standard 9-18 holes??

If you gather a group to play whatever you want to play and can find room for them......depends on the size of the group and whether people IN the group play frequently as to whether you can gather the group on a routine basis, particularly during high season and probably NOT on the same golf course.

A lot of groups play games such as these. I play with a ladies group from Hadley on Wednedays, one from Laurel Valley on Tuesdays, one from Caroline on Fridays and a couples group on Sundays. We all have a person who tries to schedule us. We never know if we can play or what golf course we will be playing on. We have no difficulty in the summer and not too much any other times but January, February and March.

Yesterday I was standing in line in Publix and a fire engine went by. I heard a man tell his spouse. "Shame, but a tee time just opened up".

(JUST KIDDING!)

As far as I know, the only organized Villages-wide regular activities are the men's and women's day tournaments on the executive and championship courses. Go to GolftheVillages dot com and you can read about these.
