First Records
Do you remember the first album or 45 you bought?

Sorry, I suffer from CRS.

My first 45 was Shirley Ellis's 'The Name Game' bought with refund money for the pop bottles I had found in 1964. Tadpole in Training |
The first 45 rpm I ever purchased was "Sugar, Sugar" by The Archie's.
|
My first 45's were You Keep Me Hanging On and Help/I'm Down ,,, I believe purchased on the same day when my Mom took me to Monkey Wards...

Little Darlin' by The Diamonds on a 78.

My first 45's I didn't buy and I was too young to remember what music they contained.
I was probably under 7 at the time and it was in my Grandfathers bar & restaurant while either my mother was cooking or my father bartending. Once a week the jukebox guy would come in and update the 45's in the restaurant. He would give me one of the 45's that were being phased out. At that age it was like gold to me! Could be that the first record could have been... "Put another nickel in, in the nickelodeon. All I want is having you and music, music, music!" by Theresa Brewer. Yes, I remember it well. I was in the record store in my hometown (Akron, NY) and chose between Jerry Lee Lewis, "Great Balls of Fire" and Elvis, "Love Me Tender". I chose the King and never looked back!

"Locomotion" by Little Eva
|
"Sherry" by the Four Seasons.

I'm ashamed to post sometimes. It was Purple People Eater.
