Suicide at Paradise Park

I was driving by Paradise Park Thursday and there were four police cars and the Medical Examiners vehicle parked over by the water. There was also some crime scene tape strung up between the trees.
That night at a billiards league I was told that someone committed suicide.
Anyone know anything about it?

Just what was in The Daily Sun this morning. The Sun kindly never names a suicide.

Such a tragedy

I know a bit about it. The gentleman who committed suicide found out that he was ill, I'm not sure with what, but he told his wife that he was going to commit suicide and she went to call the sheriff and when she did he took off in his golf cart with a gun and that was it. Someone I know was due to play golf with this man the next day when he got word of the tragedy. Terrible thing and my thoughts are with he and his family.

Very hard to get over one of these within a family. My great uncle killed himself in 1992 for roughly the same reason. Terminal illness and he did not want to burden any one. He was very clear in his thinking when he did this. He even drove his clunker to a funeral home parking lot and shot himself there.

He and I were quite close as we used to exchange letters ever week or so for almost 15 years.

Many of us still think we could have done something to stop him if he had just talked about it more.

My condolences to the family and friends.

That man was my brother in law. Please keep his wife and family in your prayers. And always remember, if life seems too tough, always reach out for help.

This is such a shame.....It must be awful for the wife ...

You may not have read that the brother in law of this man posted, who too is a villager. This has made all of us pause and think and be sad for this man and his family.

No one can know what another's personal anguish is. If we did we would all try somehow to fix it and to comfort them.

May he rest in peace and may his family somehow know we care.
