Hemotologist
 

I have hemachromatosis. It's also called iron overload disease and it's treated by a hemotologist. I have a Dr I go to in upstate NY but need to find a doctor here. I see some Dr's listed in the phone book, but would like a recommendation.

I just read on another thread about a website called vitals.com that might help you evaluate a doctor.

There is a group of hematoglists that belong to the Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institue located at Santa Barbara Blvd off El Camino Real at The Villages.

I have a friend who has this. I'll get the doctor's info tomorrow.

I have had only a couple of dealings with him and his staff, but they have been fairly pleasant. Be prepared for a substantial amount of time in the waiting room.

Her office runs on time, she will communicate with you clearly and she enjoys a very good professional relationship with the other physicians at Florida Hospital Orlando. She works with your other physicians as a member of your treatment team.

This runs in my family and my father goes here--Florida Cancer Specialists-- to get drained every so often as well as to have his iron levels taken.

Fortunately, I do not seem to have hemachromatosis as my iron levels are usually borderline with respect to being able to even donate blood.

Has anyone seen Dr. Tummala?
