MOVING OUT--how to stop ammenity bill, water bill, etc.

Hi-
Does anyone know how to CHECK OUT of The Villages? I do not have a Realtor at this point---and I am wondering how I get the water bill, the ammenity fee--and the rest of the items that The Villages bills for (including the bond) OUT OF MY NAME and into the buyer's name?

Thanks,
Lynn Fitzgerald

All of that will be taken care of at your Closing.

Even if I don't have a Realtor and the closing company is NOT The Villages?
Using a TITLE COMPANY in Leesburg....
Thanks.

and PS----Neither the buyer or me will be at the closing, either!

Call the title company handling the closing and ask them. They should know.

Some information on that is here, at the community development district site, "Stop/Start Service" page....

You don't have to have a realtor. The title company is the one that will transfer everything at closing. As for electric, gas etc. you just call them with a disconnect date......new owners will call for a reconnect.

When we sold our home in Hadley last year, we used McLin and Burnsed, office in Lake Sumter Landing. I think owned by The Villages and they handled everything. Cost was about $750 and we split with buyers. We sold our home in Hadley without a realtor. McLin and Burnsed handled all legalities for the above fees.

Easy peasy, they sent out all reminders and did all of those utility type things.
