MOVING OUT--how to stop ammenity bill, water bill, etc.
Hi-
Does anyone know how to CHECK OUT of The Villages? I do not have a Realtor at this point---and I am wondering how I get the water bill, the ammenity fee--and the rest of the items that The Villages bills for (including the bond) OUT OF MY NAME and into the buyer's name? Thanks, Lynn Fitzgerald |

Even if I don't have a Realtor and the closing company is NOT The Villages?
Using a TITLE COMPANY in Leesburg.... Thanks. |
and PS----Neither the buyer or me will be at the closing, either!

Some information on that is here, at the community development district site, "Stop/Start Service" page....

You don't have to have a realtor. The title company is the one that will transfer everything at closing. As for electric, gas etc. you just call them with a disconnect date......new owners will call for a reconnect.

When we sold our home in Hadley last year, we used McLin and Burnsed, office in Lake Sumter Landing. I think owned by The Villages and they handled everything. Cost was about $750 and we split with buyers. We sold our home in Hadley without a realtor. McLin and Burnsed handled all legalities for the above fees.
Easy peasy, they sent out all reminders and did all of those utility type things. |
