Does anyone have trouble getting the satellite radio signal to come in strong and consistent? We live in Sanibel and the signal has been a problem. My radio and antenna are located inside the house, and I've heard that concrete blocks can cause a problem. I just purchased a new Pixel Pro 600 outside antenna to mount on the back of our home, and hope that solves it. It's a one foot long antenna that mounts to the outside wall and an RG6 cable is then run from the anntenna through the attic, to the receiver. I already have an email from the VCCD that it is allowed. Any thoughts or similar experiences?:pepper2:

Yeah, mine is fine too in the car, but gives me fits with the one set up with the stereo inside the home.

I used my XM radio from the garage and from the living room with no reception problems. I had a base station and antenna in those rooms and moved the radio as needed. The radio played through the sound systems in those rooms.

I'm curious to hear your reference to concrete blocks because I pointed the antenna UP - pointed through the ceiling and roof. Although my house is wood frame, I don't think the walls are a factor.

By the way, I recently added an Internet Radio subscription, and canceled the traditional radio subscription. I now receive SiriusXM on my smart phone and move it from the garage to the living room, as well as my car. I can also listen on my laptop. This offers me greater flexibility and I don't have to point an antenna towards an XM satellite.

If you're going to use an outside antenna, your reception should be fine as long as it's got a clear shot to the southern sky:

I have had mine outside, clipped to the side of the house fr 3 years, pointed up toward the south and no problem. No association or government agency can restrict those according to law, so wouldn't have expected any hassle. I just purchased my first car with a built-in and love it. Heading north thru GA last month we found ourselves in an awful rain storm. Brought up the weather map, saw on the map where we were and how much onger before we drove out of it. Really helpful and neat. I'm going to see how much they want to soak me for using my house radio on my car subscription.

I'm going to install an outdoor, Pixel Pro 600 antenna on the back side of my home and run an RG6 cable through the attic and down to the receiver. This should set me up to get a good signal. But just in case, I'm also going to install a Pixel signal amplifier on the line too. For another 10 bucks, it just give me a little more juice on the signal and I hate interruptions to my signal.

We have the reciever I can use in the garage or on the Sirius Sportster boombox. Their antennaes are great because they are so small you'd have to really look to find it.

I'm probably overdoing it, but I have no patience when Bruce Springsteen gets interrupted with seconds of silence. :-)

We have tried everything under the sun and broke down and called geek squad from Best Buy. They came out and charged us $125. To my embarrassment they said i had everything wired incorrectly to my entertainment system. If you are not an I.T. guy or gal like me, i should have left it to the pros in the first place.
