dog poop
just wondered what other residents think in regard to careless dog owners who allow their pets to run up onto other's lawns, relieve themselves (urine), and on occasion poop and the owners do not pick it up.
we have several 'public areas' on our street (the entrys to villa neighborhoods, which are landscaped and have signs and fences) and the dog owners think that these areas are public toilets for their pooches. the retractable leashes allow the walker to stay in the street while the dog can go all the way up to the front door and and do their business. really! this is my yard and what are you doing on it? and dog urine can burn patches into the lawn? and what happens when i step into your dog poop? c'mon, give me a break. if you have discovered a solution to this problem i would love to hear about it. there are only 2 dog parks in all of the villages. seems to me that is so inadequate. thank you for allowing me to vent. |

travelguy,You will find that this is an extremely provocative topic. Please, please, PLEASE do a search on "dog poop". There have been thousands of opinions expressed on dog poop ranging from "my snookums can do his dodo anywhere, he's special" to "hide bear traps on your lawn, sit back and watch the fun". :22yikes:

:spoken:Look - this is what I have figured out as an owner of 2 large dogs - some of us care what we do with our animals and some of us don't. That's the short and long of it and it will never, ever get resolved. We have a pump station around the corner from us where we take our dogs in the morning to poop (sorry, but they need to walk a little before they are ready), but we always, always pick up and you would never know they were there; however, someone with a little dog (can tell from the size that is left behind) thinks this is a public place that doesn't matter. So when I see the little dog's poop I pick it up with my big dog's poop 'cause in the grand scheme of things what the heck is a little more poop? So what I am really trying to say is some of us are responsible and some aren't. What are you going to do???? I suggest the next time you see a dog pooping on your lawn, go outside and nicely hand the owner a bag and say "I guess your dog suprised you - here is a bag to pick up his business". It will never be resolved, we can only hope to educate those that don't get it. AMEN.

We don't have a dog. Never did. But, we like dogs, HOWEVER, when we are eating at our table which is by a window and a dog does its business it is not pleasent. Why can't dog owners have their dogs go in THEIR yards and just enjoy walking with the thing. Our neighbors are good at picking up, but its the lifting of the leg on our bushes (near street) and the no.2 view thats upsetting.

OH NO! Not another poop thread.
I've only been on here a few months and am already "pooped out" about this topic (sorry I had to). :p |
I have come to believe that this subject is important to rehash. SOON the people who are at fault will change their ways.
Maybe. OR none of them read this forum... OR they don't give a poop. |
