Electric stove

I had read somewhere that homes in the Villages have a 220 line behind the stove in case someone wants an electric stove. Our home is 7 years old and I can't move the stove to find out whats behind it. Does anyone know who I can contact to find the answer to this question?:posting:

Two suggestions:
1: Take out the drawer on the bottom of the stove and look under and see if there is a large electrical outlet.

2: (Easier), look in the breaker box and see if the are breakers labeled for the stove/oven.

If you are typically north of Rt. 466, there is probably only a gas supply unless the original owner paid to have an electric outlet installed.

Shouldn't the warranty department have this information? They know everything.

Agreed

I agree with both Ooper and CFrance. Chances are that if you have a gas stove, you do not have a 220v electrical outlet. One of the ways The Villages controls the cost of homes (and their profit, of course) is not to build any unnecessary "extras" into homes. But to find out for sure, a call to the Warranty Department with your section and lot number (from your ID card) will get you a quick answer.

My guess is that most of the homes north of 466 have no natural gas supply, electric stoves only.

I may be wrong but we live near the Savanagh Ctr. and all the homes in or area have natural gas. We had to pay extra for an electric range hookup in the kitchen. I don't believe homes south of 466, especially the newer southern areas have gas... they are all electric.
