Best Place To Buy Golf Cart Batteries

Any one have suggestions on a reliable, inexpensive place to buy golf cart batteries. Have 6 8's and mine are only lasting about 2 years.

I would try Ken Spano. But if the batteries only lasted two years you might have another problem. Sapano can check out the cart for you and see why.

I have had excellent experiences with the Battery Boys. They run their business like ti should be run. They are honest and dependable and put the needs of the customer first.
Avoid the Villages Golf Cart man like the plague. They are liars and thieves.

I agree with one of the previous posters, 2 year life seems on the short side and there may be other issues on your cart that need to be addressed. I have 4/12 volt batteries that are 2.5 years old and although the range seems a little lower, I feel that they are still in good shape.

When you do go for a new set of batteries, I would suggest that you consider also purchasing a Battery Minder to keep the bayyeries in top shape and reduce the sulfur buildup which is a battery killer. Battery Boys always have high recommendations in TOTV and also sell the Battery Minder and will install it in your home too.

I have 8 6's and 3 of them were just replaced less than a year ago. The others are only a couple of years old. Don's, where I bought the cart and had the 3 replacements, said that is normal, won't last any longer. Paid a lot of money for these. Called Battery Boys and they are coming on Monday. Needless to say, when I do decide to get another cart once these batteries are gone, will NOT be using Don's. Sorry I ever bought this Alumacar from them!! Thanks bunches for all the great comments on Battery Boys.

I would run far and fast from Spano! Personal experience and also experiences that several friends have had with Spano have NOT been good. I know of a complaint with Seniors vs. Crime a friend filed. They paid over $2,000 to Spano at various times to fix an ongoing problem. Spano always said it was something new and the problem was never fixed. Run, Forrest, run!

Sorry to hear that. Although this may seem unhelpful now, your experience is why it is so important to check the pack periodically before and after a load. They may have been showing wear at 18 months in a way that warranty could have helped.

As far as buying batteries I would trust Spano or Battery Boys. If buying Trojans than IMO price wins. No matter who you buy them from they are warrantied by Trojan. Most of the models price out close to the same, but the last time I bought 6-8s I decided to get the T890 which are higher priced with more amp hours than the T875.

For this particular battery there was a difference in price of about $75. It is not important who was lower, just something to be aware of.

Good luck!

Had Battery Boys come today after reading some of the great comments about them on this site and others. Had Brian and he was very nice and polite, and did a great job on replacing the batteries. Will definitely recommend them, not only because of service, but also best price we got on new batteries. Belong to Angie's List, so giving them a thumbs up there too.

It seems to me difficult to criticize a repair shop or a product unless there are a sufficient number of complaints to get a pattern.

In my situation within four years I replaced Trojan batteries twice. the first after 1 1/2 years and the second because they were defected repaired and then still went bad. I have been running on powertron since then and I have a strong charge that seems to hold well.
