Baby born with a caul or veil over its eyes and forehead
......
I was born with a caul over my head, apparently it means you will never drown (sailors used to buy, dry out, and carry with them for good luck on the seas).
I don't know anything about a caul but I do know she is one lucky girl to have you as a grandmother. She will be the recipient of so much love and so many good gifts from her Italian ancestors and the combined love of your amazing family.
I know that she will have a very good chance to be a wonderful cook like you and will know just how to be the matriarch of a warm, communicative family because you will have shown her by example. Congratulations to all of you and rich blessing on this sweet new life! What did they name her? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caul#No...in_the_caul.22 |

Yes I was born with a caul "veil" and my mother always said I would have good luck as long as I kept it with me. So far so good I still have it after 74 years.

My daughter was also born with a "veil". My mother said that meant she would be beautiful. My mother was right, she is beautiful.!!

Congratulations. We were always told by "old wives" in the community that being born with a caul meant that the baby would be gifted with special powers. I'm assuming that means the powers of a Medium.
Congratulations. I hope someone can help you post a photo. God bless you all, Grandma!
