Stone Crab Claws
 

Does anyone know of a restaurant in or close to THE VILLAGES that serves stone crab claws?

I put this question 2 years ago and got no real answers. You can order from Joe's Stone Crab in Miami but it costs a fortune. Wish I could find a restaurant around here that has them!

I bought them last Friday from the fish guy on 466. Had them for dinner and they were delicious.

He's located on 466 by fruit stand. If you leave Sumpter Landing, take Morse Blvd Bridge to 466, turn right, and about mile down road on left, you will see area where he is suppose to be, with phone number. Actually, I haven't seen him out there lately??

Call Bonefish Grill - we were there two weeks ago and they had them on their 'Daily Special' menu. They might still be serving them.

He is there after 1 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. When I was there last week he told me that he was thinking of expanding his days to Wednesday through Sunday.

Yes, they have great stone crab claws.

I go to Shelly's Seafood in Homosassa to by fresh fish and Stone Crabs. I also go to Charlies Seafood in Crystal River. Charlies has a restaurant and a market. Shelly's is a market but there are several good restaurants around. It make for a nice day trip to leave TV. Both places sell floater stone crabs for $4-$5/lb.
