Any Windows 8 early adopters?

I played around with a couple of Windows 8 desktops at Sam's Club today and was curious if anyone has purchased a Win 8 desktop or laptop yet. The ones at Sam's did not have touchscreen available but did show the tiled active destop and were hooked up to the internet.

Having used an iPad extensively for the last 2 years it was a pretty natural transition to the active desktop.

I will probably replace my 4 year old Dell desktop before next Spring and am struggling with going the Mac route (more $$) or Win 8. The ipad satisfies my mobile needs and probably gets used 80% of my 'puting time. The desktop is for things the iPad doesn't do well and secure storage.

Any thoughts or opinions about Windows 8?

I have been running Win 8 Pro on my laptop now for about a month and enjoy using it. If any one has any questions..... just let me know.

Gordy, I "volunteered" to help a friend who just bought a Windows 8 computer. When he returns to TV, he wants me to install the software for his wireless printer which he printed to with his Windows 7 computer. At this point, I'm not sure the brand of printer.

Do the Windows 7 printer drivers work with Windows 8?

Got anew HP desktop because our 3 year old HP laptop crapped out.
Got used to Vista so now will have to get used to Windows 8.
Not bad so far.

Working with printers doesn't seem to be as easy with Win 8. I had to reload a couple of my printer drivers. I'm finding I am using the DESKTOP block of WIN 8 and doing just what I did before with WIN 7. I have loaded some of the WIN 8 apps and in general messed around with both. No show stoppers, I just think I'd like to be a WIN 7 user rather than a WIN 8 user. One the pro points was it started quicker and I don't find that to be the case. Mine will hang up when I do a restart with it too. It's a very personal thing, just try it and see how you fit in the equation of WIN 8. There are some neat new things with WIN 8.
