Suggestions for hanging Christmas Wreaths outside.
I have never lived in a house where the top part of the window did not open. Normally, I would hang Christmas wreaths outside of the top window by simply opening the top window and hanging a wreath hanger over the window lip before I shut it.
The windows in the Villages houses would require taking off the screen then hanging the wreath on the lower window - which I personally think lots dumb! I tried window magnets, but they will not hold the weight of my wreaths. My husband is not handy, so I guess I will need to hire someone to place some kind of permanent hanger on the top of my windows to hang the wreaths from. Any suggetions would be greatly appreciated. |
No suggestions on how to do it, but here's a bump for you. If nothing else, wait til the week after Thanksgiving. Then, knock on the door of someone who has wreaths hanging on their windows and ask how they did it (make sure they have same type of house -- stucco or siding).

Use those 3M Command Hooks. Lots of various sizes, they go on and are easily removed...though be careful when pulling the strip off the glass....remember to pull straight down so you don't put pressure on the glass and the seal between the two panes. Should work.

We use the large suction cups.

I use a large suction cup on my glass storm door and it's works nicely. You could always put a small cup hook overhead and you fishing line to suspend the wreath from.

we have a wreath that we put up that is over 2 ft round and weighsb3-4 pounds. we also use large suction cups. it' a good idea to clean your window first before attaching the cups.
