What do YOU bring back from your previous area???
 

We have returned from Ohio and when we came we brought back a cooler with several packages of Goetta, a breakfast meat similar to Scrapple, (but BETTER ;) ) Several cans of Cincinnati chili, and several cans of Worthmore Mock Turtle Soup. ( This soup has NOTHING in it of turtle), but rather ground beef and vegetables that just is so yummy on a cold evening here with a good sandwich) I just found out that the people who own the Worthmore Soup Company in Cincinnati have wintered here in The Villages for years.

Does anyone know them? I don't think their last name is Worthmore and I am guessing they must be in their eighties. I would love to meet them and shake their hands and try to finagle the recipe. It is yummy soup.

Anyway, when you go back to the place of your childhood, what do you bring back that you cannot get here???

We always bring a bottle of corn relish as I cannot find it anywhere down here. And next time I am bringing a few pounds of quinoa as the it is so costly here. Also have to bring a package of chinese sausage as there is no Asian market nearby.

Our favorites to bring back, Gracie, are Danish Kringle and Wisconsin cheese. It would be nice to bring Culver's ice cream too but alas...

When we travel back to our hometown on the return trip we carry back Grandma's Baked Beans, Red Pack Puree, Italian Sausage and Pepperoni from our favorite Italian Deli. I'd like to take back a couple of my favorite restaturants but just not enough room in my vehicle. Now I have nade myself hungry

Kogel hotdogs. No other part of the country has hotdogs as good as Michigan.

If I can't find an item in the stores here. I go to the net grocer web site and see if they have it. I have been disappointed yet.

We can't leave MA until my dear spouse has several jars of Cain's relish. She says none of those available here has the same flavor or particle size as Cain's. We do have more room in the car since Sweetbay has started selling New England style hot dog rolls, although about three times the price up north.

Another vote for kogel hot dogs, plus we bring back white castles, sanders bumpy cake,(can order and have them shipped here but the last shipment melted),Faygo,better made potato chips.

Someone posted about going to their web site and I did for kogel hot dogs and found out that a company will ship all over the country. I'm placing my order today. This is for the poster from Michigan.

We previously brought Hoagies from Gooey Louie's, butter cookies and cannolis from Terminis bakery and half a dozen soft pretzels which we usually eat on the way home! Now we just get our full while we are visiting!

I'm with ya on that one Mike, too bad you can't pack up a good New England Clambake with lobsters, steamers and corn on the cob.
