Square SetList Approvals
 

A friend mentioned that he heard that the bands playing on the Squares needed "approval" for their setlists/ pick songs from "approved" setlist.

Seems wacky yo me ...on the other hand most of the tunes played in the Squares seem very smilar.

Can anyone in the know confirm or deny rumor?

A few years back I requested something by the Stones or the Doors, they said THEY CAN'T.

I guess it is a good way of making sure that no offensive lyrics etc are played. I have to say that I would really not like alot of rap or heavy metal. But then I am not at the square every night so maybe there is some of that on the playlist.

I did hear one band play Eric Clapton's Cocaine last year and about fell out of the chair. Here in TV ? No Way. But there it was.

Another group played a couple of Pink Floyd tunes but left out Money for obvious reasons.

One would think Stair Way To Heaven would be a natural here in TV but i have never heard it. Not a lot of heavy metal in that tune so no need for a band in the box to do the number.
