do it yourself
There are no good cheesesteaks anywhere down here. Chi's uses Amoroso's rolls which are fabulous and authentic. However, you can get a decent roll at Sweetbay and buy some of their 'shaved steak' at the meat counter. Get some Cheese Whiz, and slather it on the roll just before you add the cooked steak and fried onions. It will be awesome. If you can get a bottle of Frank's Black Cherry Wishniak soda then all will be well in your world!

Taste of home
Thank you to the people who recommended Chi's Grill by the Hallmark Store...went there the other day and it was great. It was big enough to share and sooo many french fries which were great also.
Someone mentioned that they couldn't find "Philly" cheesesteak on the menu...It's listed on the menu as "Cheesesteaks" Haven't been to Fiesta yet...but its on my list. Happy Holidays to all!!! |
My friend said the one at Johnny Rockets is authinic! Try it.

Chi's is the best followed by Publix. Beef's are okay and Johnny's are not. Just my opinion and everyone's tastes are different.
By the way, at Publix ask for some grilled jalapenos along with the onions, peppers and mushrooms. Not authentic but really adds a nice kick to the sandwich. |
