One year warranty
 

For those that have purchased new. When you find a problem (nothing serious, just a minor problem).... Do you call right away or wait closer to the one year warranty date and give them a complete list of problems?

IMO, call as you find problems. There will be different craftsmen fixing different problems. Also, don't worry about being a pest - you paid for an error free product.

Thanks, I will start addressing my problems. Nothing serious...just a squeak here and there and a few other minor things.

Our year was just up, we were not here for most of it. But as issues came up while we were not here, and then when we arrived, we called immediately. The service was phenomenal and immediate. They really do honor all aspects of the home when you buy it for the year, and then you get a private inspection before the year is up. Our inspector brought the report right to the builder and everything was repaired no questions asked.

Jane, I haven't thought of getting an inspection. Good idea. I will do that also. I did address a few serious issues when we first moved in and were satisfied with the response. One problem was stubborn and required multiple visits...but it was finally resolved.

Get your inspection no less than a few weeks before your year is up but not much before that because you want to be sure that anything that will come up in the year does come up while the inpsector is there if it has not been identified or resolved. It costs about $175 give or take and you get the report as well. Worth every penny and could save you thousands and thousands if there is significant work that needs addressing before the year is over. The inspector is trained to see every major and minute issue. Ours did.
