How frequent are power failures?

Trish and I have been gathering everything (read that as throwing away everything) prepping for the BIG MOVE this month. Inasmuch as our areas in Michigan have occasional power outages, sometimes for several days, I was wondering how frequent the Villages have outages and for how long.
Earlier posts have mentioned them but not frequency or duration. Thinking about a generator--That's all

Cherie and I have been here for seven months. We have not seen a power outage. We don't have to worry about ice pulling down the power wires like we did in Ohio. :-) We have had 2 or 3 tropical storms. The power lines are underground in Sanibel and maybe all of TV.

We haven't seen one in Bonita in 15 months that we have been here.

It is a rare occasion.

Should say how seldom are power failures. Been here 3 1/2 years only once for less the 1/2 hour. No need to worry.

Moved from Ohio 3 1/2 years ago and had buried utilities there also - many power failures sometimes for days.

Lived here in Village of El Santiago since Ohio (3 1/2 years ago) and have seen a couple of very short duration power interruptions but nothing to worry about. Utilities are buried here also - think all of TV is buried.

We've been here for almost 7 years and other than the tornado in Feb '07, we have only lost our power twice and that was only due to vehicular accidents. Don't panic and purchase unnecessary items like most unrealistic preppers.

Generator

We happen to own one and plan to bring it with us. Doesn't take up much space

HI Steve!! Congrats on your new home:a040::a040:

Bring your generator, you may want it if we have a hurricane. We have been here 8 years and have lost power maybe 3 times for a short period.

I have been here a bit over 3 years. No power failures at all. I am North of Hwy 466 up in Glenbrook.

I don't think you will need generator.

We've been here 2 years and no outages to report. For sure, generators don't take up too much space, but space is at a premium. Especially in the garage, where you would store a generator.

I had a pressure sprayer, but gave it away to make room for a motorcycle...ha ha

Good luck on your move!
