Early morning walk
Went for my morning walk earlier than usual. Saw and spoke to several other early birds. Saw 2 golf carts and several cars.
Did see something very strange tho. I always walk on the sidewalk. This AM, I saw a person walking in the golf cart lane. When a cart approached him, instead of stepping up onto the sidewalk, he walked into the middle of the road, then back into the cart lane, when the cart had passed, and kept walking. What he was thinking, I'll never know. (Or was he even thinking).:22yikes::loco::rolleyes: |
For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would walk in the golf cart path instead of on the sidewalk - and then to go in the street???

I have a theory, but want to emphasize that it's just a theory of why the person chose to walk off the sidewalk.
I ride a mobility scooter from my home to our mail station occasionally and a segment of the ride is on a sidewalk. Everything went smoothly on the sidewalk up until they decided to replace some of the concrete slabs along the way. Unfortunately, the workers doing the work didn't do a good job of keeping the slabs level and consistant with the older ones, so I have a bumpty-bump ride! Now my theory is... if the same happened to the sidewalk this walker doesn't stay on, and he's afraid he might get tripped up by any unevenness, is that why he might do what he does? Now, the house I sold up north when moving here had an uneven slab, someone wasn't paying attention to where they were walking and tripped and got hurt. That led to a law suit against us that lasted for months before being settled. Now if the walker being talked about had such experience in the past, he just might have that on his mind or be fearful of the same happening to him if he stayed on the sidewalk. Remember, this is only a theory and your assessment of it might be wrong! :duck: |
It begs the question, "what were you thinking?"

Some walkers/runners prefer to be on asphalt instead of concrete.

I even do not like it when you are at publix or at any parking lot, you are driving to look for a space to park, and people just walk in front of you slower than a turtle..... all they need to do is move over so the car can pass...
I am starting to believe that when people move here, they really put into place "FREEDOM" (to do what ever you want) |
