Tee times & sales office

I have had a tough time getting tee times on exec courses last couple of weeks - although I did get unused tee times after not getting requested tee times. I play 2 or 3 times a week including men's day, which is really not a full play 9 holes.

I heard today that The Villages Sales Office blocks a lot of tee times to give to prospective future villagers, who are lookng to buy, but unsure. They offer these tee times to people to try to keep them here another day. Understand they give them back the day before tee time if not used.

If this is true it is not fair to the homeowners who are paying amenity fees for executivve course usage and upkeep.

You hear a lot of stuff that is not true - just wondering if this could be the truth, and if it is how and why "Villages only" sales people get to do this.

Maybe a call to GMS to check if there is a glitch in your profile. One of our friends started to,have difficulty as well and he was listed as having numerous no-shows,which inflated his points. Haven't heard this complaint in a while. Let us know what you find. Understand selling homes is What TV is all about. if you work for TV and a member of sales calls to alert of an issue, you better get it fixed. Good luck.....

I understand the executive courses are owned by VCDD - not The Villages, unless I am wrong

This has been my argument for years about the sales department having reserved tee times on golf courses that WE own as residents. I cannot understand the agreement that allows this. The developer absolutely has the right to reserve tee times on the championship courses that HE owns for sales promotions but to do it on OUR courses is a different matter.

Obviously you never visited on a "life style preview". Call sales and have them explain what comes with the visit including sampling champion or executive golf (2 rounds only I believe) during the visit, not "to keep them here". Then call t-time office and I'm sure they can explain how limited times at certain (not all) courses are set aside and if unused by pm the day before are made available.............Going to the source is the best way to get your info............jmho

have been shot down the past three weeks trying to get tee times - finally this week some came through. Yes TV does save teetimes for lifestyle visits and I agree they should be done exclusively on championship courses and leave the executive open for residents. Too many people and not enough tee times - it's only going to get worse as more homes are occupied south of 466A

Yes you are correct but GMS runs the tee time system Right? Anyway, that's all I know to help the OP.

Most of the executive courses south of 466 are not owned by residents because of the IRS bond issue still being up in the air. They are still owned by the developer and he does block off tee times for life style previews. Part of the amenity fee settlement a couple of years ago limited the number of tee times the developer could block off for courses north of 466.

Sir, Most of the Executive golf courses have been or will be sold to the two VCDD's. Do you know anything about the VCDD's ?? We residents are the VCDD's, you pay amenity fees and are also charged a SPECIAL ACCESSMENT. Check your tax bill and you will discover this special accessment is a part of your tax bill.

I just have a problem with the residents being held responsible to help the Developer sell homes. At the very least, the Developer should be paying for those reserved tee times on the executive courses.

Using back-of-the envelop calculations, there are approximately 6,720 tee times on executive courses per pay. Even if the developer took 100 of these (which I doubt), that amounts to only 1.5% of available slots. The real reasons for the difficulty are:
1) just about every housing unit is occupied this time of year and 2) the shorter day limits the number of available tee times.

Not to hijack the tread but... Just curious if anyone knows how many Life Style Vistitors come during each month for Jan, Feb, and March?

FedEx 01-25-2013 11:32 PM

Not true. Sales does block out 1 tee time per Executive course but will release day before if time is not taken by Sales.

Suggest widening your time to play window and adding more ourses to your play list.
