Decaf Coffee

A week or so ago, a thread began about where to find the best cup of coffee. Many TOTV participants listed their favorite restaurants, etc. Many also offered the best coffee they buy and how to find that brew.
The thread lost some "steam" just after I posted a question about how many people drank decaf and what do they consider the best decaf for those who cannot tolerate caffinated brew. So, I am posting that question again. At this time, I currently drink Cafe' Verona decaf ( bold, full-bodied) by Starbucks. Anyone have any other suggestions of brews for me to try?

I have a Keurig and use Wolfgang Puck breakfast blend. It does have caffiene which I can't seem to tolerate in any other coffee except this one for some reason. It's a very mild coffee.

I drink Decaf Espresso from Starbucks as my everyday coffee. My favorite! My family and friends love to come to our house for coffee.

This decaf is the best....

so far, anyway...Green Mountain Dark Magic Extra Bold K-cups...since my husband drinks full strength and I can't anymore we went to a Keurig instead of one pot...it was so difficult finding a decaf coffee for me....I used to drink the strong stuff, extra bold just sounded right to me...am very happy w/it, but it was almost impossible to find...finally am able to order from Staples, free delivery to my door.

I'd be interested to know how you make that, Villager--i.e., how many ounces of water to what measurement of coffee. I have often found Starbucks coffee to be too strong, but maybe I'm just making it wrong.

I use Winn & Lovett Kona Blend, which is a brand carried by Winn Dixie. I'm very challenged in the coffee-making genre, and it's the first coffee I've found that I can't screw up. But you can only get it at Winn Dixie. So it would be nice to have another brand I can make successfully. It usually takes me forever to get a new brand's ratios right.

(And I'm not a fan of K cup coffee, so a Keurig is out.)

I use The Fresh Market (brand) decaffeinated blend. It is full bodied and I usually make it strong. I think it has great flavor. I buy the beans and grind my own.

CFrance - I measure my Espresso Decaf just like I would any other coffee. I think the general rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon of coffee to 1 8 oz cup. You would have to "play" if it is too strong for you or just add some nice half and half. I will share with you that most people cut down on the amount of coffee they use if is too strong but that is the wrong thing to do. If you don't use enough coffee, the brewing process will extract the coffee flavor first and then will start extracting the leftover oils which makes the coffee bitter. If anything use more coffee to get a smoother cup. I will say I do grind my own beans. I'd do this for whatever coffee I use. I like the freshness of the coffee this way. But, I also have to admit I am a coffee snob. LOL

We enjoy a good cup of decaf Highlander Grogg (check local coffee stores or WalMart). This is not typically found brewing in coffee shops but is an awesome tasting coffee.

I also have a Keurig and get my coffee from Amazon. Subscribe & Save price is about 41 cents a cup with free shipping and no tax (for now). They carry decaf.

I have tried many brands of decaf and the one I found out to have the best taste so far, is a brand from Community Coffee...cafe special medium-dark roast. Still not like the real stuff but not bad.
