Are privacy blinds better than regular blinds?
We were quoted from Blinds and Shutters for faux wood blinds that have the privacy feature (no holes for cords in each blind) and also quoted by 48 Hour Blinds for the normal blinds (with holes for cords in each blind.) The price was higher for the blinds with the privacy feature. Has anyone had any problems with the blinds with no holes and cords? I heard that they may slip off occasionally. Have to make a decision in the next day or two in order to get them ordered and installed before I head back north. HELP???

My goodness who would need that much privacy they would have to prevent holes for the cord??? Personally my blinds are almost always open - love to have the sun shine in and don't have a need for privacy - well maybe in the bathroom.

I think privacy blinds would be helpful for an east facing bedroom window, keeping out most of the early morning sunlight while one is sleeping.
Our guest bedroom window faces the lamppost outside which shines until daybreak. Privacy blinds would be helpful in that situation. They may also be helpful if a living room window faces the TV wall, for those who watch TV before sunset. It would be worth the extra cost on windows such as that to eliminate annoying 'peepholes' of light. |
Uptown I agree - "peepholes" of light could be an issue, but she mentioned privacy. Perhaps they meant for light control - at least I hope that is the case.

Gomoho, you are funny. I don't like the little peepholes of light especially reflecting off the tv set. But my concern is really how they are made (without cords) and if they don't snap off. Trying to find someone who has them. Don't mind paying extra, but don't want to deal with falling slats.
