TV wannabes finally became TV home owners
 

A dream come true...

For the past 6 years (300+ weeks), I have told Kathy, on every Saturday "We're one week closer to our dream home in TV."

Well, it has happened. Today, we closed on our TV home (in the Village of Sanibel, south of 466A). The purchase happened suddenly; I was guilty of having our checkbook in hand <g>. Not really. We have looked at lots of homes over the past 6 years in our 8 prior one-week stays there.

Kathy retired in June 2011. I retire shortly. We'll be there so-ooon, with VERY big smiles on our faces.

To all those here who have given us support, encouragement and great info on TOTV, thank you so much!

To current TV wannabes, hang in there. Your dream will come true, too. Just hope you don't have to wait for 300+ weeks as Kathy and I have done. Life is too short.

Thanks! Every time we have stayed at The Villages over the past 6 years, it reaffirmed our desire to make TV our "retirement destination." Dre-eeam, dream, dream, dream (from the Everly Brothers song in the late 1950s).

If "238" refers to the weeks you've been waiting/dreaming of becoming TVers, how many more weeks do you have to go before realization date? Sure hope it's less than the 300+ weeks Kathy and I have waited.

But whatever the count, it will be worth the wait. TV is a dream come true for us. We'll be there so-ooon! Looking forward to making many TV friends.

When we move to TV so-ooon, do we have to give up our Ohio driver licenses in order to get Florida licenses? We'll be TV full-time frogs.

Congratulations! I know the feeling of being happy, proud, scared, excited and dizzy all at once.
I think in life one regrets more the things they never did much more then the things they do.
We love being Floridians and so happy we "made the move"......

One thing my neighbor did that I wish I did......when you move here bring the front page of the local paper showing one of the "big storms" and hang it in your garage as a reminder of "why".......

I traded high taxes, rust, potholes, road salt, and snow for Palm trees and Sunshine......
