Apple is not working

I am unable to click on safari and have anything pop up. I cannot shut it down. When I click the apple and try to shut down, nothing happens. I can get in to pulling up a new page only by clicking file. Anyone have any suggestions. I was trying to let it run out of power to see if it would reset. But it just goes to sleep.

Do you have a way to force a shut done by pushing a butto on the lap top itself?

What are you on? A MACbook? IPAD?

You have to HOLD the button... Here is an artcle on doing a "hard shutdown" when your having problems like this... maybe this helps as it gives you pinpoint instructions please read

If you have further problems.. I would go to the Villages directory on the home page and click on "Computer Directory"

Call one of the sponsors if you got serious problems and maybe they can help you personally as I heard they are good... they are mostly local and it's what they do...

If you want to go to an Apple store.. there are 3 in Orlando (Altamonte, Florida mall and Millenia mall)

I did the hard shut down and it worked! Thank you so much. Think I will make a trip to Apple anyway to see if it is going to be a problem going forward. Thanks for all the help!

I had similar problem with a Mac laptop (2004 vintage) and the problem was the age of the equipment and the inability to upgrade the operating system to an acceptable level to be compatible with the updated Safari. How old is your computer? It really bummed me out but I now have an IPad and an IMac so problem solved.

shcisamax 02-09-2013 08:35 PM

Let's see. It was my daughter's when she was in 9th grade. She is now a sophomore in college with a new mac so I got her hand me down. That makes it 2007. Is it vintage yet in the ridiculously fast world of technology? BTW: What is an IMAC?

I think your problem might be the operating system you currently have on your Mac doesn't correspond with the new Safari OS requirement. Check with the local Apple Club. Good luck

shcisamax 02-09-2013 09:23 PM

Thanks. It happened once before. But usually there is no problem.

Take a computer class at life long learning. Then you will be able to give computer advice rather than receive it. Just sayin !!!!!!!!
