Barnstorm Theatre
Went to Barnstorm for the first time Saturday evening and was disappointed that the walls between theatres was so thin we couldn’t enjoy the movie we were watching because of the noise coming from the theatre next to us. Can’t understand why they would build a supposedly state of the art theatre and not soundproof the walls. It spoiled the whole movie. Are they starting to do things on the cheap because it’s close to buildout? Anyone else have this experience?

Due to a slight hearing loss, I probably would have walked out and asked for my money back. I wouldn't have been able to hear what they were saying, thereby ruining my viewing experience.
So sorry this happened to you. |
What surprises me is that people believe that it is close to buildout or that such a thing as buildout even exists. Do you really believe that the developers or their children, grandchildren or great grandchildren will someday stop building here?
Buildout will occur when there is no more land available for development. |

I'm sure this must have been an oversight by the operator/management with the volumn being too high as you suggested. |
Went to the Barnstorm a few weeks ago and the movie previews were so loud on the action films that at times I had to cover my ears. Next time I will bring earplugs for the previews. The sound went down to normal level during the movie. I did think the sound system was excellent though and the seats very cushy.

I had the opposite experience. I thought the sound system was EXCEPTIONAL. There are speakers all around. As you watched the movie, different sounds came out of different speakers making it feel like you were actually right in the middle of the movie. I've seen three movie there so far and look forward to the next.

BTW don't blame every little thing on buildout! |

The quality of building and hospitality by TV is unmatched. There is nothing "cheaply" built here. My guess is that the people running the movie next door had the sound turned up too loud. Everyone I know who's attended movies there has liked the facility. Building of Brownwood Video Series: The Building of Brownwood - Episode 1 - YouTube! |
Not only can you hear the movies in the new theater, don't even think about asking for a CC device or hearing device. They NEVER work and the employees are clueless how to fix them.
As far as "management" goes, there isn't any. They have a handful of 18 and 19 year old kids who are shift leaders walking around with keys and acting like management. |
Could have been the movie being shown----an action movie maybe??!! We've had this happen "up north", where you could hear some of the "noise". I agree that the sound is the issue and not the theater!!
Did you mention it to the management? Can't be fixed unless they know!!! |
We have been to Brownwood to watch movies 3+ times. Love the place and look forward to our next movie. Sorry you had a bad experience.

We went to the Brownwood theatre for the first time this past Saturday and loved it. The building itself is gorgeous, the sound quality was excellent, the picture quality was excellent and the seats were extremely comfortable. I thought the ticket and food prices were reasonable and probably the coolest thing of all is when the movie was over all the theatre goers threw away their own trash! I love the villages and us villagers!
