Dave Clark 5
Dave Clark 5
The obits in this mornings Newsday (Long Island) mentioned that Rick Huxley, bassist of Dave Clark 5 passed away. The report went on to say, “The band was known for drummer Dave Clark’s driving and exuberant vocals.” Give me a break… Everyone with any musical knowledge knows that the vocals were sung by the late Mike Smith…who doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Why do these newspaper reporters so often screw up the facts? This day and age, with Google at your fingertips why not search info and get the facts right. If you don’t know what you are doing or are not sure, look it up. A reporters job is to get it right. The article never mentions that Huxley follows Mike Smith and Denny Payton in death. |
Why R U reading Newsday in the snow, get back here.

My understanding is that Dave Clark “owned and managed” the DC5. He had the other four guys on salary, and he kept the profits. He still owns all of his publishing and the rights to the TV program “Ready, Steady, Go”. He has only released two Greatest Hits CDs by the DC5.The DC5 albums have never been (legally) released. Dave is quite wealthy; well, not Sir Paul wealthy, but pretty well off.

The Dave Clark Five had more appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show than any other musical act.
