Walking Poles

After reading the article in yesterdays paper about walking poles, I am interested. The remaining sessions demonstrating walking poles are filled. I hope someone knowledgeable decides to start a club. I think there would be a good response.

I have walking poles, or as we used to call them, cross country ski poles; but, the first time I took them out in the neighborhood I had so many ridiculous comments about "the snow is that way up north", and on and on that I never used them again. I used to ski, so I had no problem adapting to them, and you can feel the workout through your arms, shoulders and back muscles. I got mine from a personal trainer friend of mine in Alhambra, he fitted them to me to make sure they were the right length. I have not seen him walking recently, but he used to walk with one of his clients and they both used poles, they walked about 10 miles a day.

If the Poles are going to have a walking club then the Armenians and Chezchs should be allowed to have them as well

I was intested in the pole walking too, until I saw how much the poles can cost.

I got mine for about $80 for the pair. They were labeled as trekking poles. You might think of looking on Ebay for ski poles, but the length is important for walking.
