New BBQ Place
Has anybody tried the new Smokehouse BBQ place in Wildwood, appears to have just opened in the last few days? Going South on 301 it's on the left just over the bridge.

That building used to be a BBQ place that I understand was a Wildwood institution for many years. It closed several years ago before I tried it.
Will be interesting to see how this new owner does ... I wish them well. |
Wife and I drove buy today and it sure did pass the smell test.

Years ago used to be Very Good but has been closed for some time. Have to give it a try didn't know it had reopened.

Weston's Smokehouse in Wildwood
1. Went there for lunch - take out only until 3rd week March.
2. Long wait for pulled pork sand - orders mixed up by staff. 3. Pulled pork nicely smoked but not well seasoned 4. BBQ sauce very generic - not much spice 5. FFs pretty good 6. No beer or wine - (need beer for good BBQ) 7. Fairly expensive but sand was pretty large. All-in-all not quite ready for prime time but may get better as they learn about restauranting. Jimmie |
T. Weston's
T. Weston's Smokehouse, (owner's maiden name).
As always, the details have been on the Gourmet Club's website for quite a while. Opens at the end of March. Skip |
I agree with Jimmie (above) in that the Weston's BBQ is not ready for prime time. They are still too confused. The Gourmet website says "wine and beer licensed" but they do not have either. Hopefully time will help improve everything that is BBQ.

Last night, 4/20 they had wine and beer.
Good food, very attentive service and surprisingly nice decor. $15 for a full dinner - seemed about right, all things considered. |
