Not a big problem, but annoying

I use Yahoo as my home page and periodically the appearance changes. In the past, the stories summary section (news / sports / etc.) would load a limited number of items and display them. Now, this section never stops loading. The more you scroll down, the more stories appear.

This change in Yahoo page appearance occurred right after the latest Java update. Related? Is there a way to control how the Yahoo page appears?

This happened once or twice in the past and I cured it by deleting all cookies, temporary files, etc. Doing that has no effect this time. Any advice?

By the way, IE9 history is also not working. This also was cured in the past by cleaning up cookies, temporary files, etc. Again, not this time.

Thanks for any help.

Bob

Yahoo Resign

Noticed something the other day about a major redesign of the Yahoo home page. Perhaps that's what you experienced. I tend to avoid Yahoo and AOL home pages for news. There's so many good news apps foe the iPad.

You have to be careful when you get notice to update Java.

I've never had any real problems updating Java in the past that I know of, but today I got notice to update, and I did try. I'm pretty certain that Java didn't updated, but the update process did installation of a program called ilivid and a toolbar called APN LLC. I immediately deleted them once I figured out what had happend.

Don't you just love it when things are sneakily shoved down your throat that you didn't want or ask for?

I once got an update for IE and it really screwed up the appearance of the original IE. I am careful from that experience, and almost always trust the updates from only Microsoft.

Yahoo did chance the appearence of their home page a couple of months ago but it wasn't that big a deal.
