Brownwood Windy !!!

Went to the Brownwood Farmers Market today & the wind was awful.. lots of dust, etc.. I was worried some of the tarps would blow over/around, so we left soon after arriving.. anyone else brave Mother Nature today ???

I love the Brownwood Market, but I thought today would be too windy. It's 55 degrees here in TV today. But that is waaaaay better than 23 degrees in Lagoon City, Ontario, our summer home.

Drove to Spanish Springs for the BBQ bash. Very windy. Lots of tree branches fell down on El Camino Real.

Must be that they forgot to include a ban on "high winds" in the TV deed restrictions.

Played golf in the wind today, not the most memorable round for any of us.

We went to the Farmer's Market today for the first time. Very windy and some of the sellers had packed up early. The dirt was flying and it made it a very gritty experience but better than the weather we were used to in the Northeast, no snow. We were there around 12:30. It was our first time so we really enjoyed moseying around without a crowd and the vendors are so nice. Got some fresh veggies and swordfish. Yummy!

I went to the BBQ Bash at SS and was amazed at how strong the wind was all day long. It just kept on blowing and blowing all day long. It would have been a really nice day had it not been for the wind. But still I enjoyed the BBQ event and there was no need for supper today after that event.

Best brisket had to go to the Waterford Inn. The big cut of meat that I received tasted more like prime rib than BBQ. No fat and a nice crust on the edge of the meat but very tender.

Best wings were on the ones on Main Street just off the square. Good flavor and meaty. A little spicy but not over bearing. I could have done some real damage on a bucket of those.

Best BBQ (ribs/pulled pork or brisket, chicken or beef) had to go the The Villages Culinary group. A very meaty rib that feel off the bone. Great use of spices that worked very well together. All the people around me agreed that it was the best of the event.

Now back to my diet as my doctor is going to kill me or at least read me the riot act.

If you're curious as to how windy it was in the south end, drive by our house. Sand 2 - 3 inches deep four - six feet into the front lawn. Drift in the middle of the driveway. Amherst Way in Gilchrist. Wouldn't mind it if this wasn't the sixth time this has happened to our grass since we closed in August.

Apparently you are in need of a sand blower, cause sand don't melt when the sun comes out!!

We tried to go to the Farmers Market...got there rather late and they were closing up a little early. Really don't blame them! We're looking forward to next week.

I know how windy it was 'cause I was out it and almost taken out by a long front door mat that took off! What I am curious about is if you are responsible to clean up that mess or if you get assistance from TV???
