Schools?

Okay....not too much posted about schools.
I understand that this is an over 55 (80% or so)
Why no mention of schools?
Just curious, our children are grown....but I am assuming that there are schools?

Yes there are. My daughter and granddaughter located to Lady Lakes when we moved to TV. Bella is 6 and in the first grade. She goes to The Villages Elementary School. That is not the Villages Charter School. Since my daughter just got a job working for the State (in TV) our topic of conversation is usually over which school is better for Bella. Checking things out.

The schools attract young workers/professionals who might otherwise be reluctant about school quality if they were to move here.

See other posting about the villages charter school. See if this would be the school that would interest you. Lots of problems there.

Lots of problems at the charter school? What problems?

mulligan 03-05-2013 09:28 AM

I guess trying to figure out how to get that last darn 4 or 5 % to go to college is a problem.

Isn't that a bit misleading if you are refering to the other post on the charter school.

Paulanjean, I have no dog in this fight. I sense you are not a fan of The Villages Charter Schools and in the above post you mentioned " Lots of problems there."

What do you see as specific problems at The Villages Charter Schools.

Ohiogirl 03-05-2013 11:35 AM

Not sure we made it clear to the original poster that all the schools - public and charter - are for children living outside The Villages. Children are barred from residing or visiting more than 30 days within the Villages (except for Spring Arbor and one or two other "family" villages that are golf cart accessible but cannot use the typical Villages amenities - rec centers, pools and exec. golf courses).

That's why there's not a lot of mention of schools on this site. None of us have children 18 or under who live with us, at least if we are here more than 30 days a year.
