directions Plant city

We are going to the Strawberry festival tomorrow in Plant City but the directions I am getting from mapquest seem odd. We are in Amelia and it said go to Powel... Any ideas. Thanks

Went down this past weekend, and we took 301 south to 471 south, then just used google maps to get us to our bed and breakfast.....btw...Strawberry House B&B is delightful!). We took a little different route home, actually wound up on a stretch of dirt road for a while.....it's all in the adventure.

But..there are so many different routes you can take to Plant City. Maybe you like the turnnpike?? I don't, so always looking for country roads.

If you aren't sure you like the mapquest route, just take a paper map and go for it.

Highly recommend the strawberry shortcake at Parksdale!!!!! Have fun.

I often compare Mapquest results with Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/). Many times it is better, in my experience.

It's talking about Powell Rd which connects 466A and Rt 44. You'll then go West on Rt 44 to South on I-75. Take Exit 261 to merge onto East I-4. Follow signs to Plant City--it's between Tampa on the West & Lakeland on the East. I used Google Earth. Have fun & drive safely.

Never occured to me the OP was talking about how to get out of TV.....my bad! When we first arrived, first purchase was a GPS....LOL!

Powel is the road at the corner of the government building with the gold dome on CR 466A, the place with the library and where you get your drivers license. Turn left at that light and go about a mile and 1/2 to route 44 and then turn right. You'll pass through Wildwood and then continue about 4 more miles to I-75. Take I-75 all the way to Tampa for a little over an hour until you see I-4 East Orlando. Take the I-4 East Exit and continue until you see the Plant City exit.

That's what I wrote but with a little more detail, "Take I-75 all the way to Tampa for a little over an hour until you see I-4 East Orlando". Since the OP seemed to be hung up over Powell Rd, I included the directions from Powell Rd through Wildwood, which might of made it seem like more, but essentially it's the same info, just getting to I-75 was the part the OP seemed confused about.
