The higher the thread count the softer and better the sheets. The low thread count that isn't cotton sometimes pills and feels rough to the skin.
Nice sheets are a luxury but you don't have to replace them often.
Look on JC Penneys web site and see if you can find sheets for your short mattress.

Thanks, GG. Yes, I have seen the thick mattresses in model homes and it almost seems one would need a step ladder to get in bed.
I found an article about bed sheets and it says not to go to any extreme on thread count (not too low and not to high). So I figure about 500 would be okay for me.
My sheets, bought in Belk or Beals(?), never seem to wear out but I just want to try something softer.
If I can't find the right pocket size, I'm thinking I might call the seamstress in Wildwood and see if she can alter it. She has done some unusual jobs for me in the past and is very good.
