Golf carts for sale (sources)

Besides the Daily Sun, what are other "reference sources" for previously-owned golf carts for sale?

Also, any suggested "Do's and Don'ts" on golf cart buying?

We'll be buying soon.

Village of Sanibel

If you are looking for an electric cart be sure to buy one with 8 6volt batteries. You will be surprised the distance you will get out of those batteries.

TOTV and the internet if you want to buy from an individual. Otherwise all of the dealers also sell used carts

There is also New and used gas and electric golf carts for sale.

This site also has a golf cart buying guide:

I called Battery Boys the other day, and here is what the guy I spoke with said about expected battery life time between charges:

8, 6-volt batteries ----- 40 miles

6, 8-volt batteries ----- 30 to 35 miles

4, 12-volt batteries ---- 25 miles

Any comments on the above numbers? Do they diminish with age of the battery? How do you know when your aging battery needs replaced?

We are considering Gas or Electric golf cart.

Are you sure he said hours or did he say miles???

I have both one 6, 8volt and one 8, 6volt. I get about 35 miles per charge in the 6, 8volt and 55-60 miles per charge in the 8, 6volt.

Oops. Yes, I meant miles (not hours). Accordingly, I fixed my original post. Thanks, Biker Dog.

Call Jim Followell 352-259-7525. Buys sells and rents golf carts. He has been doing this in The Villages for many years. To read more on Jim type Followell into the search area of Talk of The Villages. I can't remember seeing a negative post.

Batteries do diminish with age... usually 3 to 4 years. Check the age of the battery with the code engraved in the top cover (The first digit from the left side is a letter which stands for the month of the year. A = January; B = February; C = March, etc. The second digit from the left is the year that the battery was shipped from the factory. 6 = 2006, 7 = 2007, 8 = 2008, 9 = 2009, 0 = 2010, 1 = 2011, 2 = 2012, etc. ). You can tell you need batteries as your distance and speed will both start to lessen.

A little bit off the post, but how much more on average does your monthly electric bill go up each month? Thanks
