TV population 101600

ORLANDO, Fla.: The Villages leads growth in Fla. - Florida Wires - MiamiHerald.com

I did not know the 90,000 mark was crossed

gadaboutgal 03-14-2013 04:07 PM

Ah ha! I thought the roads were a little more crowded this winter!

graciegirl 03-14-2013 04:27 PM

WE are the fourth fastest growing area in the WHOLE Country!

justjim 03-14-2013 04:39 PM

Wow! Wonder if the 100,000 resident got a Gift Certificate or perhaps a new golf cart or something?? Nah!

rubicon 03-14-2013 04:57 PM

If this statistic is accurate than there are going to be substantially more than 110,000 people living here when build out is complete.

justjim 03-14-2013 06:24 PM

Just saw on WKMG channel 6 news that TV is the fastest growing area in Florida and 4th in the nation. The 7:00 news just put TV population at 102,000.

justjim 03-14-2013 09:21 PM

Rubicon I agree----about 102,000 now seems 120,000 at buildout is not out of the ballpark. As you said, assuming the Numbers are accurate. However, 110k or 120k probably makes little difference.

What's another 10 thousand people on the golf courses and roads???:22yikes:

BogeyBoy 03-15-2013 08:54 AM

I got a chance to count them one by one and there are 101,600. They were all at the Colony Plaza Publix.

Does anyone know how the census bureau estimates population? For instance, Mrs. Pirate and I bought our house in TV - but don't live there. So, right now it may be occupied by 4 people during 'high rental season' or by no one during the 'off season'. Are estimates based on how many individuals are named on the deed?

Just curious...

They first count the number of fingers and toes on each individual, then divide by 3 at each home, afterwhich they go to Publix and count the number people in checkout lines while at the same time another worker counts the number of flushes in home toilets occurring at the same time. Then they factor in the 1000 ways to figure your social security check and divide the number of tires on your red car by 3. The people shopping at Sweetbay are not included as they are used to get the 'average' since no one in the government really wants a correct number as it would mess up the laws regarding redistricting on the books. Simple standard government procedure.

Oh, that is funny! I need a few things from Publix, guess I will set my alarm and hustle down there first thing in am... I was surprised, I went to Colony around one pm and found no crowds. Go figure. Maybe they will all be there tomorrow, early.
