Home insurance

We are closing on our home in TV in May. I have talked with The Villages Insurance Co. and I am still waiting for a quote. Is there any other companies we should talk with? Looking forward to the village life!

Bay Kid, if you need another source to check with for insurance, try Rita Canty with Brightway Insurance out of Jacksonville - (904) 646-1850. They represent a vast majority of the insurance companies that write HO insurance in FL. They should be able to help you.

You will need to ensure that you are comparing apples to apples. We obtained several quotes for home insurance and found that the lower priced offers did not cover all the risk that the higher priced offers did. Also, the lower priced offers property values for replacement were significantly less which would leave you to pay the difference in a total loss situation.

This is very true. Make sure everything matches up from quote to quote.
