Question for woodworkers

Hello fellow woodworkers!

My husband and I will be moving to the Villages near the end of April. I like to do scrollsaw work and eventually will look into joining the woodshop.

This week we have had several hardwood trees cut down here at our home in Virginia. The tree guys cut them down into 16 inch long rounds. The largest one, a white oak, is 20 inches in diameter at the bottom. There is also a maple and a hemlock, and a white pine.

Is this wood valuable for woodcrafts? Would people want to purchase it, in it's green fresh cut state?

Thanks for your ideas!

My guess is no, it can take 12-18 months to dry, not sure the shop can cut that size.

I didn't join yet, but took I look.

In researching online I found that lathe workers sometimes like raw wood blanks for bowls, etc. I guess they rough cut the bowl and then let the wood continue to dry.

Any lathe workers who might know more about this?
